CRDI SkillsLog: An Innovative Tool for Tracking Transferable Skills in the Research Context

Team working, communication skills, problem solving, planning or time management are examples of skills that can be defined as ‘transferable’. These are skills learnt in one environment and which can be utilised in another.

Whether they can enhance the employability of researchers in academia or prepare them for a wider labour market, Transferable Skills are increasingly important and valuable in today’s job market.

In that context, CRDI developed SkillsLog, a facility to track and record transferable skills during PhD and Postdoctoral training, with support from mentors.

CRDI SkillsLog provides a blended platform for programme leads to incorporate this into Education & Development.
