Irish Cancer Society New Grant Calls Now Open: Stimulus Awards 2018 and Cancer in the Workplace

Stimulus Awards 2018

The Irish Cancer Society Stimulus Awards are to provide early-stage cancer researchers with an opportunity to drive forward an existing research project which, if given an extra injection of funding, has the potential to be both highly competitive and impactful.

There are two Stimulus Award calls in 2018:

  • Biomedical Science
  • Social and Allied Health Sciences

A webinar with further details of the two calls will be held on 2nd October 2018 from 2 pm. To register for the webinar, please email grants@irishcancer.ie

Cancer in the Workplace

A cancer diagnosis may impact a person’s ability to work in the short and long term. Additionally, when a person with cancer feels ready to return to work, they may only be able to do so in a limited capacity with reduced hours, or on limited duties. The aim of this project grant is to understand the impact of cancer on patients’ employment and ability to work, and to inform the Society’s services and advocacy initiatives accordingly.

Further information about all three calls, including application guidelines, can be found here: https://goo.gl/D6sE9z

This grant can be applied for through the Irish Cancer Society Gateway Grant Tracker online system. Please note, the deadline for applications is 3pm Wednesday 24th October 2018.
