Wellcome-HRB Irish Clinical Academic Training
The Wellcome-HRB Irish Clinical Academic Training (ICAT) Programme is an all-Ireland clinician PhD programme funded primarily by the Wellcome Trust and Health Research Board (HRB). The programme is coordinated by Clinical Research Development Ireland (CRDI).
Clinical & Translational Research Scholars Programme
The MMI Clinical & Translational Research Scholars Programme (CTRSP; 2011-2016) was a structured 4-year PhD programme for science graduates, with the objective of developing disease-focused researchers able to bridge gaps between basic scientists, clinical scientists and industry.
Clinician Scientist Fellowship Programme
The MMI Clinician Scientist Fellowship Programme (CSFP; 2007-2012) was a structured 3-year PhD programme for medical graduates, with the objective of developing the next generation of clinician scientists who will lead the quest for new therapeutic strategies.
MMI Education & Training Annual Scientific Meetings
Over 110 people gathered in the Science Gallery, Dublin on 24 March 2015 for presentations from MMI Clinical & Translational Research Scholars, MMI Clinician Scientist Fellowship Programme Alumni and the wider research community. Areas covered included innovative research in cancers, rheumatoid arthritis, kidney disease, hepatitis C infection, lung disease, diabetes complications, perinatal disease, and central nervous system disorders. Keynote Addresses were from Professor Chris Chamberlain (UCB Pharma) and Professor Sir Gordon Duff (St Hilda's College, Oxford).
